The effective range of watermark sensors is from 10kPa to 80kPa (and yes, you can push this a bit further to over 100kPa but sensitivity is reducing in this higher range) The effective range of gypsum blocks is 200kPa to 600 kPa (again, you can extend to both drier (1000kPa) and wetter (100kPa) ranges but at much reduced sensitivity) I repeat my previous comment, that for research applications, individual sensor calibration can increase precision quite a bit.
