characteristic curves

Dear Tarantino 

I believe, because we have, for many soils, a pronounced hysteresis effect
on the soil water characteristic curve. 
It should be stressed in the name of this relationship. 
If the curve was evaluated (if it is the case!) using suction or desorption
techniques, the word "desorption" should be considered. 

Perhaps, should you consider : - "soil water desorption characteristic curve"
