I was under the impression that the 1502's do not require energy from this battery until the unit is powered up. This being so, there appears to be no good reason to use a battery at all. As long as the 1502 has power, either through the AC input or 12 vdc battery, then you should be able to tap into this 12 volts dc, which is also available when being powered from 120 vac and use it to drive a low cost, low power/dropout voltage regulator and be done with it forever. I've not had an opportunity to work with Campbells new TDR, and having 4 fully operational 1502 systems based around CR10's, probably won't get around to it for a while. I'm sure it is an excellent product, as I've come to expect with all of Campbells equipment. Sincerely, Steve
