An alternative approach is the Delta-T SigmaProbe, type EC2, for salinity
and nutrient monitoring. The EC2 can measure pore water conductivity (up to
500-1000 mS per m) directly in the soil. This avoids the need to extract
the pore water from the soil by suction, or to use saturated paste
conductivity measurement. The SigmaProbe overcomes the errors in the above
methods by direct insertion into the soil or growing medium, and reading the
conductivity using the Delta-T HH2 Moisture Meter. More information is
available at www.delta-t.co.uk
Unfortunately the EC2 is on long delivery at the moment (the older EC1 model
has been phased out). Stock should be available in February.

[Fatih..
This is slightly off topic, but there are sensors to measure soil solution
EC in situ.
I will subscribe you to sowacs so that you may read any replies.

Dear Sir,

I get your e-mail from the internet. If I give you any disturbtion, please
forgive me and delete tha message.

I have now difficulties to calculate EC of soil solution from the measured
soil bulk EC.

I think that you are stdying on this subject. If so, coul you possible send
me a copy of them either through e-mail or hard mail. I will also be very
happy if you suggest relevant work on this.

Thank you in advance.
