An anonymous poster asks about Neutron Probes below:

I hope he has started at http://www.sowacs.com/sensors/NP.html

but might not want to get into the calibration method minutae proposed
recently by Carlton Weber at
http://www.sowacs.com/sensors/calibration/nmm.htm
Discussion on this was notably absent.. did everyone agree 100% with
Carlton.. or was there too much to take in?

My company does extensive soil moisture monitoring in conjunction with our
irrigation scheduling programs. We have never used neutron probes, but
would be willing to investigate them further. Being radioactive, I'm sure
that there is necessary training and/or certification to own/use such
equipment. What type of training or certification is required in your
country? Do you know of any of the regulations in the U.S.A.?

I would definitely like to know more about the probes and how they are
typically used and what set-up is necessary for their use. Could you
please provide me with a few thoughts and comments? Thank you.
