Fabrics for use in soil

Friends,

I would like to use fabrics in the soil for long durability, at least 10
years.  The fibers should be capable of wicking water over a wide range
of soil water potential or soil water content.

You suggestions and directions as to how to obtain additional
information would be most appreciated.
