sowacs needs a new list server

Hello sowacsers,

It appears that time has come for a change... I am looking for a
new patron to process the sowacs email discussion list email posts.

The research institute that has done this job since 1996 has
closed its doors... so we must find a new home for our small, but
loyal 500 members.

[As a result, my list of members may be slightly out of date, so if you
receive this despite having recently unsubscribed please forgive me.]

So if anyone knows of any organisation that could host the email
sending (List-serv or majordomo) I would be most interested to hear.
ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED.

This is not a large list, nor is there high volume, however, there is
a good signal to noise ratio, and some of the important scientists
world-wide keep an ear on - and even occasionally chip in their $2
worth :)

One of the strengths is the impartiality of the list, but if a company
were to pay for the costs of using one of the commercial lists
servers, then although the company would get a plug in each post, the
condition would be that absolute control on content be maintained by
me. I have investigated this in the past and the cost is typically
$35 per month. Let me know if you are interested.

I would like to continue as before being moderator so that no junk
mail gets to you - even if you might have to wait a day or two
between posts....
If possible I would like to include the ability to automatically
archive the posts to my own website.

Thanks
