Hello sowacs list members, Apologies for the spottiness of sowacs coverage.. what with changes to the hosting servers, the arrival of my first child - 5 months ago, as well as studying (again), things have been rather, uhm, busy. Still, change is as good as a holiday, eh? :) This message will serve as a test message, and... I would like to ask for feedback from sowacs members on the content of posts to sowacs. The list's strengths are its impartiality and non-commercial nature. These have been under threat recently, and I suspect that long time members shy away from posting now that there are more members of a "commercial" bent. As a result post numbers and the quality of replies have decreased over time. I have two proposals: Proposal a) 1 sowacs discussion be kept completely non-commercial. 2 the poster's email address is not shown - unless the poster has it in their sig. 3 anonymous posts are therefore possible, but adding your name is encouraged. [Commercial members are welcome to send "me too" product replies directly to posters that provide their email address, but **I will not post these type of replies through the list**.] The bottom line is that we want all posts to have some value other than for the person trying to sell their product ! ***PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU AGREE OR NOT AND HOW STRONGLY*** Proposal b) I establish a second list for "Quote requests" (of which I get a number).
