Sowacs certainly seems to be getting people into contact... but please remember to "pay sowacs back" by submitting summaries of anything you may find out through the contacts you make through sowacs, however technical - or simple. Good wishes to all sowacs for the festive season. Bruce Metelerkamp ==================================================== Grant.Upchurch I'd be interested in contact addresses for the" Water Watcher" technology discussed here and also a description of how it works eg capacitance, resistivity. Is it more suited to arid or temperate or tropical climates ? Is it efficient across the entire water release curve or best at the drier end (say below -3 bar tension) ? Is it primarily a switch for turning on an irrigation system at some preset value or a device for measuring soil moisture content ? If the latter, what's it's precision ? Comments either to this group or to me directly: Grant.Upchurch@nzdri.org.nz I would be grateful if Brian (who has written on this subject) before could contact me. Thanks, Grant Upchurch Grant.Upchurch@nzdri.org.nz
