Hello Bruce It is a real pleasure hearing from you. I appreciate welcoming me in the SoWaCs discussion group and congratulate you for establishing such group. I learned about SoWaCs from the article " Accessing Irrigation Information on the Internet" by Richard Mead of the Trickle-L. It is a very useful article and can be accessed at the Trickle-L web site at: http://mif.org/iainternet.html. As a new member of the SoWaCs group I introduce myself: Farouk A. Hassan, Ph.D., Irrigation & Soil Consultant with Agro Industrial Management (AIM), P.O.Box 5632, Fresno, California, 93755 U.S.A., Phone: (209) 224-1618, Fax: (209) 348-0721, E-mail: fahassan@aol.com. AIM provides consulting services in Irrigation System Design, Irrigation System Maintenance, Irrigation Evaluation, Irrigation Management and Scheduling, Water Quality Assessment, Soil Reclamation and Conservation. We work with California growers and we have other local and international involvements related to the above listed technical services. My relation to soil-water sensors goes all the way back to my years in college and continues to the present. I used them regularly during my academic and practical carriers. That includes tensiometers, neutron probe, gypsum blocks, and of course the God given sensor, I mean the feel method. Other techniques such as gamma-ray, TDR, and FDR are also familiar. I preached and practiced soil-water relations and their applications for efficient irrigation and for conserving the environment, both locally and internationally. I look forward to communicate with the fellow members of the group on matters of soils, water, irrigation, and related subjects to learn from their experience and achieve mutual benefits through the use of the Internet vast resources and fast response. Happy holidays Bruce and all fellow members. Farouk A. Hassan
