Thank you Ralph Oborn and Brendan George regarding the soil type
determination question.

It appears that the ribbon method is the most prevalent one out there. I
have checked with other soils professionals and this concept keeps popping
as a rule of thumb (no pun intended).

Hence, I will perform this procedure via digital camera and place it on the
upcoming Wateright web site to help homeowners determine what soil type
they have.
