Meteorlabor's "lumbric" sensor

We are developing a capacitive soil moisture measuring system,
capable of measuring humidity profile up to 2.5 meters deep.

The probe (better, the soil) can be calibrated by freezing the soil
using  liquid nitrogen allowing compensation of the type of soils
influence.
