I have a question for the soil science consultants out there. I'm on the faculty in the crop and soil sciences department at the Univeristy of Georgia. In about a week we are having a retreat to review our Environmental Soil Science major which we have been offering for about 6 years (http://mars.cropsoil.uga/). My question is what do you think are the most important skills or coursework that students should have that are likely to get jobs in soil science consulting. We require chemistry through a first course in organic, one course in calculus and physics, and the traditional soil science courses (soil physics, chemistry, biology, and pedology). Any other advise you'd like to give us on this? David E. Radcliffe Crop and Soil Sciences Department University of Georgia Athens GA 30606 TEL 706 542 0897 FAX 706 542 0914 dradclif@uga.cc.uga.edu
