Greetings all Has anyone out there used a thermocouple psychrometer to develop soil water retention curves for soils ? I am considering purchasing one for this purpose but am concerned about the small sample size, about 1cm3. Would developing a soil water content curve based on such small aggregates be meaningful? I would appreciate any feedback. Best regards Evan [Bruce comments: on the sowacs psychrometry sensor web page http://www.sowacs.com/sensors/psychrometry.html there is an article by MJ Savage on psychrometry in general and a section on its use in soils.] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------- Evan Christen, Ph.D. Phone: # 61 269 601586 Drainage & Irrigation engineer (Research) Fax: # 61 269 601600 CSIRO Land and Water Email: Evan.Christen@grf.clw.csiro.au GRIFFITH NSW 2680 AUSTRALIA http://www.clw.csiro.au/research/agriculture/horticulture/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------
