Thermocouple psychrometers for retention curves?

Greetings all
Has anyone out there used a thermocouple psychrometer to develop soil water
retention curves for soils ? I am considering purchasing one for this
purpose but am concerned about the small sample size, about 1cm3.

Would developing a soil water content curve based on such small aggregates
be meaningful?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Best regards
Evan

there is an article by MJ Savage on psychrometry in general and a section on
its use in soils.]
