SCADA-Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition systems typically use 4-20ma current loop signalling running from 24 VDC, either in two wire or three wire configurations. Most moisture sensors have voltage interfaces designed for data logging that produce 0-5 VDC at 1 ma or so. The now defunct Hydrotek sensor was designed specifically for the interface required. If you can locate a sensor that you want to use, a convertor can be purchased or designed.
