We have developed a software (http://lthent1.hmg.inpg.fr/~laurent/TDR/tdrssi.htm) under HP Vee (http://www.tmo.hp.com/tmo/pia/HPVEE/PIATop/English/) to communicate with the Trase and control it to acquire traces, download stored ones, set the parameters... Doing that, we experimented also a lot of trouble with the TRASE-PC communication until we got the 2100A1 upgrade. For a Trase 2000, this upgrade is only a new ROM to be changed (generally: free) but for previous series (1600, 1800...), you must also change the TDR genrator/CPU card (about 4000$ in France).
