TDR cable tester appeal

I am at the university of Maryland in College Park.  I am beginning work
on nursery irrigation management using TDR.  I was wondering if anyone
had knowledge of or has a Tektronix 1502 B or C cable tester that I
could buy or borrow used to cut investment costs as a graduate student.
Any information would be great.  We are trying to use TDR to control
cyclic irrigation in peat and bark based organic substrates.
