I bought a "new" in the box 1502B model from PTL test instruments last year for $4000. it's been in the field for about six months with no problems. When I received the unit, I contacted tektronix with the serial number, and they were very helpful, letting me know that the unit had never been in for service. I can email you the phone # for PTL if you want. On a related note, these tektronix units contain a lithium battery that will die after a couple of years, usually at a bad time, like in the field. I've replaced quite a few of these battery's and it's not much fun. Someone from Campbells Scientific(Joel Green) i think, mentioned that a customer had removed this battery, and tapped into the circuit board, providing the 3.6 volts the lithium battery was putting out. this should make it unneccesary to use the lithium at all. If anyone has done this, i would be interested in hearing about it. I figure this modification will void any warranties, but replacing these batteries is a pain, not to mention expensive sincerly, steve sargent At 08:17 AM 6/27/99 GMT, you wrote: >Jason, > >You should try the following: > <SNIP> > > >At 06:08 AM 6/25/99 GMT, you wrote: >> >>Jason Murray <jmurray@wam.umd.edu> writes: >> >>I am at the university of Maryland in College Park.
