Our company sold a few of these many years ago, when the Aquaterr was under different ownership. One NZ customer thought it was great, but did some mods to the circuitry to get it calibrated correctly. The principle of operation is capacitive.
We found the cost was about the the same, maybe a bit more from memory as Soilmoistures Quickdraw, which is a very good portable tensiometer. Usability was about the same, without all the calibration issues, batteries etc.
Just an opinion.
