Introduction

Victoria Principal is a Golden Globe-nominated actress. She was born in Fukuoka, Japan, on January 3 1950. Not only is she known for her acting skills, she has also worked as an author and as a producer for many TV shows. Her real name is Vicki Ree Principale, and her parents are Ree Veal and Victor Rocco. Principale. She has a younger sister, Kim.

Principal’s paternal grandparents are of Italian descent, while her maternal grandparents hailed from Georgia and South Carolina. Victor Principale worked as a sergeant for the US Air Force, so Victoria and her family constantly had to move to many different places. She grew up living in Florida, Massachusetts, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and London, to name a few.

Principal studied ballet at the Royal Ballet School in England for two years. She has earned the distinction of being the second American to have studied in that prestigious school. As a child and a teenager, she was very introverted and had a shy personality. Instead of making new friends, Principal chose to lose herself in fantasies involving books, theater, movies, and her dream of becoming an actress someday. She first made her public TV appearance at the age of five, and began modeling in high school.

She decided to pursue her dreams by enrolling in the Actor’s Studio with Al Sachs, but later decided to focus on a medical career, and studied at Dade Jr. College. However, not long before she was set to complete her first year of college, Principal was seriously injured in a car crash involving a drunk driver, and had to spend months in recovery. It was then that she decided to move to London to continue pursuing acting, first studying at the London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, then making that big move to Los Angeles in 1971.

Principal’s first film was on The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, alongside Paul Newman. Her career took a slump after that, so she started a new job as an agent. Then in 1978, producer Aaron Spelling offered Principal a role on his upcoming TV show, Fantasy Island. Not too long after that, she snagged the role of Pamela Barnes-Ewing on the CBS soap opera, Dallas.  In the show, Barnes-Ewing was a girl who married into the uber-rich Ewing family. Principal’s portrayal of Barnes-Ewing was highly acclaimed, and she won several awards for her role, including a Golden Globe nomination for ‘Best Actress in a Television Series’ in 1983.

After Dallas, Principal has also appeared on TV shows such as Hawaii Five-O (as Dolores Kent-Sandover), Home Improvement (as Les Thompson) and The Practice (as Courtney Hansen), to name a few. Her films include Earthquake (as Rosa Amici), The Naked Ape (as Cathy), and Vigilante Force as (Linda Christopher).

Personal Life

Principal has been married twice, both ending in divorce: The first one was to actor Christopher Skinner in 1978. They met each other on the set of Dallas. The couple split after two years. Soon after, she began dating English singer and teen idol Andy Gibb, the younger brother of Robin, Maurice, and Barry Gibb (aka The Bee Gees).Gibb and Principal met on the set of the The John Davidson Show in 1981. His problems with drug usage led to their split in March 1982. Principal’s second marriage was to Dr. Harry Glassman, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon – They divorced 20 years later. She has no children.

Net Worth

Principal, apart from her acting career, is also a best-selling author. In 2001, she released the book Living Principal, a manual about women’s health issues. As of 2016, her net worth is two hundred million dollars. Principal is also a known philanthropist, having donated financial assistance to the victims of the 2008 Califorina Wildfires and became the honorary chairman of the Arthritis Foundation.

Is Victoria Principal Secretly Married?

On December 16 2016, there have been reports from the Washington Daily News that Principal recently got married to her longtime love in a secret wedding ceremony. Throughout the year, there have already been rumors that the pair were set to announce their engagement – But it seems like they just skipped the announcement part and decided to get hitched straight away. The same news outlet has also spotted the actress sporting a wedding band on her ring finger earlier this month.

So was there a secret wedding? Unfortunately, Principal’s representatives have not contacted the Washington Daily News to confirm nor deny the news, and she herself has not mentioned anything about a wedding yet – So everything remains a mystery for now.
