Cheryl Scott is a meteorologist for Chicago’s ABC 7 Eyewitness News. She was previously the morning and evening weather reporter for NBC’s Georgia-affiliated station, WMAZ-TV, NBC 5 in Chicago, and WBIR-TV in Tennessee. Scott is known for having covered the tornadoes that severely affected the city of Knoxville in April 2011. She has also done reports for WBIR in Knoxville as a weekend forecaster, and Live at Five at Four.

Scott was born on January 29 1985, in Atco, New Jersey. She is 5’6” tall, and is a graduate of Brown University with a course in geological science. She received her diploma in 2007. Scott also owns a meteorology certificate from the Mississippi State University, receiving it in 2010. Since she was a little girl, Scott had always wanted to be a meteorologist, even writing a book called ‘I plan to become a meteorologist’. She says that the continuously changing weather has always fascinated her, and thus became the main reason why she wants this job.
Scott first started out in 2006 as an intern for WCAU-NBC 10, a station based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A year later, she began working for WSEE-TV in Erie as a weekend weather reporter. In that same year, she also provided daily weather forecasts for the Caribbean Weather Channel. In 2011, Scott started working for NBC and eventually, ABC 7’s weather center in 2014.
Aside from making weather reports, Scott’s hobbies include spending time outdoors, traveling to different countries, shopping, watching movies, and playing with her pet dog, Lola. She likes exercising, getting fit, and has also previously ran in the Chicago Marathon. During her years at Brown University, Scott was asked to run track for Division I. Sports also plays a huge role in Scott’s life – She enjoys watching the NFL, NHL, MLB, and other sports matches. She is also an excellent tap dancer and has volunteered several times with the Red Cross.
Before starting her weather-reporting stint in Erie, Scott trained with the Earthwatch Team in 2007 to learn more about the wildlife and how the Earth’s changing weather and climate affects its inhabitants. All throughout her career, Scott has traveled to plenty of snowstorm-hit areas to make reports about the current condition.
Scott is known to be one of the highest-paid weather reporters on US television at the moment – Her net worth is rumored to be at least $1.2M, and receives a salary of $150,000. Even as a public personality, there’s not much to be found regarding her invests field and sector. However, she is currently living in an expensive house and drives around in a luxury car.

In contrast to her work as a broadcaster and weather reporter, not much is really known about Scott’s own personal life – Apart from her previously-mentioned hobbies. However, there was a recent picture of her on Instagram that showed her sitting beside a man purported to be her boyfriend – A man simply known by the Instagram username ‘joshiachelli’. If she is indeed married or dating, she is working very hard to keep it low-profile. There have been recent rumors of her having a relationship with Blackhawks winger, Patrick Sharp – Scott has dismissed it on Instagram as nothing but mere rumors, and even posted a quote by William Faulkner. Scott has also said that people ‘have the right to write their own stories’, and that nobody has the power to steal them away.
